Having agreed that it is just a cheap excuse, I have to remember that in the past there were cases like this where a fighter or promoter waited until the eve of a fight to bring a legal dispute such as it was the case of Saul Alvarez who had Ulises Solis suing him on the previous day of the fight (I believe it was against Austin Trout). It may be indeed the intention of some to distract or at least make their case more notorious.

Vazques Jr. lost to Arce because Jorge used some gel on his hair, Calderon lost with Segura because there was a "mysterious" person in the arena, W. Gomez lost with Sal Sanchez because he didn't train, etc. etc. so in summary all are also just excuses of sore losers.
