Comments Thread For: Vanes: I Positively Feel 100% That I Beat Charlo

LAS VEGAS - In the co-feature on SHOWTIME? undefeated Jermell “Iron Man?Charlo (26-0, 11 KOs) of Houston, won a close, unanimous 10-round decision over Vanes Martirosyan (35-2-1, 21 KOs), of Glendale, Calif., in a clash of top-five ranked super welterweights. There were no knockdowns in a bout scored 97-93 and 96-94 twice.

Charlo silenced critics of his resume by defeating his toughest opponent to date.

He was surprised at the way his match with Martirosyan played out. “I definitely expected a much rougher fight,’’ he said. “This was easy compared to what I thought we were in for.

Can't stand guys who cry when they could have pushed the action.

It was a pretty good fight but nah, Charlo did enough. Good win for the kid. Next, how bout' Trout?

Jermell only has 11 stoppages in 26 fights? Thought he had more than that.

Meh, I thought Charlo deserved the win if either did. I thought it was easier to see 6 rounds he won than the other way.

****ing guy said that Charlo ran.

Vanes was literally backing away from him every time he could have cornered him. I swear half the sport uses that excuse when they lose now. Matthysse could beat Provodnikov in a toe to toe war and Prov would somehow end up claiming Matthysse ran.

I thought it was a fairly clear draw. Its unfair to say either guy won the fight.

Its disappointing to see Vanes again in a fairly boring fight, being that he was legendary in LA durring the amatuer for being in all action wars.
