Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao Pulls Off Historic Multi-Network TV Coup

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao pulled off a historic television multi-network coup by using his persuasive influence and his negotiating skills to convince Solar Sports, which has the exclusive TV rights to his fights in the Philippines, to hammer out an agreement that would enable the Philippines three major networks, ABS-CBN, GMA 7 and TV 5 as well as Cignal TV, PLDT Smart and Sky Cable to telecast his "Fight of the Century" against Floyd Mayweather Jr simultaneously on May 2nd [May 3, Manila Time].

So the guys who paid 10 million will get the fight on PPV while the free t.v is able to broadcast at a delay? interesting

There is way more on the line for pacquiao than there is for mayweather. Pacquiao is fighting to bring glory to a poverty stricken country of 200 million, of whom over half will be watching the fight. Mayweather fights for money and ego. Mammy will be fighting like a rabid hyena. The main advantage I see for pacquiao is his power because if he somehow gets way down on the scorecards in the late rounds, he could probably knock mayweather out if he needed. I think mammy will cruise to an easy decision win, but a knockout is a strong possibility as well.

So every filipino watching tv at that time who doesn't have cable/sat will be forced to watch Pac? No alternatives? What an ego maniac.
