The guy is at a weight disadvantage

He makes 140 easier than Garcia does

So the 143 catchweight helps Garcia

And Pederson has to get past the random drug testing

When Peterson loses to Danny, he would have set a record for keeping a world title after losing 3 different times

Definitely. He's a solid fighter who has proven his mettle against top competition. He can win this fight and he'll definitely make it hard.

He beat Khan and would have beaten Ortiz if the fight was 12 rounds instead of 10.

I think so. Garcia is rightly the favorite, but that doesn't mean Lamont is coming in there to just lay down. Should be fun to watch.

Lamont is a live dog and I truly think this will go the distance.

Lamont said recently the 143 weight helps him as he will be able to pack on muscle etc.

No, Danny's just a better fighter, plain and simple.

Not really, I'm sure this is the perfect opponent for Garcia at this point, not a power puncher and every big fight he had, he loses (forget the Khan fight, it was in his hometown and there was some shady stuff going on with ref and some mysterious guy ringside). Garcia will win and look good in the process, all of these PBC are careful match making, low risk (smaller, older, slower and less skill), high reward (big payday, low risk of loss or damage). Look at all the match ups so far, they look okay on paper, but Thurman vs Guerrero, Broner vs Molina and Berto vs Lopez. Stevenson defending the 175 crown against a 168 fighter who has 6 losses and a couple of draws.

Peterson will come to fight, but Garcia will win.
