Lets not forget people were giving cotto **** for not wanting to fight martinez he did then people bashed him for fighting him. I just dont understand why people bash cotto for taking a risk in first place hindsight is 20 20 but he didnt know martinez would be as bad as he was and now because cotto took that risk he has to fight the way bigger ggg just because he has a belt? Give me a ****ing break **** that and i dont want to hear how he should vacate the belt ggg is not god hell vacate when needed he can use it to make more money in the mean time i dont see the problem with that hes earned it. i just dont understand why people are so pressed to see ggg fight smaller fighters dont it makes more sense for ggg to test himself against bigger fighters am i wrong? ya fighters avoid him thats how it works in boxing but even the fighters people say are avoiding him are not even fighters who can fight on hbo but this whole obsessed with the belts at 160 is getting old its nothing but an excuse to not have to fight a real threat at 168 and i know people love ggg and i enjoy watching him fight but this whole thing is getting old. the guy comes out and says hell fight anyone from 154 to 175 but what he meant was unless they are a real threat. Its just getting old and this whole ggg can do no wrong is also getting old if no one calls him out and keeps giving his team excuses we will never get to see the great ggg really in a fight we will continue to see him chase the belts at 160 against fighters that have no real chance. Maybe im just being an ******* about it but this whole things just smells of bull**** to me and hes being promoted as this guy who will fight anyone and who is avoided but his actions speak differently
Your post is littered with contradictions. Clearly he's smaller, but the reality is he's at mw. So it's ok for another mw to fight him but not ggg? He's also his mandatory, if cotto doesn't want it then leave the division.

That why he has no intention of fighting GGG , cause he knows he's a paper champ . U gotta respect a man who's honest with himself .

I agree with you that people are unfairly bashing Cotto for having beaten Martinez. The majority of people picked Martinez to win that fight. Cotto didn't know anything more about Martinez's health than the rest of us at that time. I'm a Cotto fan and I thought he was going to lose that fight...and get hurt too. He took the risk. He shouldn't get bashed for it now.

That said, GGG is also doing the smart thing by pushing for the fight. It would be a big money fight for him, and there is superficial logic in unifying here.

The size difference is way too significant, though. Cotto deserves a pass from the boxing public.

I'll make this really simple, and I don't have to type an essay to explain. GGG wants to unify all the belts at 160,and cotto is holding the main one hostage. It doesn't matter if cotto weighs 155,or 105 l,he has the belt that GGG wants, and GGG is his MANDATORY. He has 2 options, vacate,or fight GGG. Either way, after his next fight,if he doesn't fight GGG,he gets stripped by the wbc. Its the lineal middleweight belt, not a bargaing chip,so stop acting like if cotto has any right to sell the belt to some 154,or 147 pound fighter, and not defend it against the best fighter in the division.

Oh no Weeb , dont tell me u bought that Oscar winning performance of Martinez falling all over the place ? People say he was hurt , but who goes into a fight knowing they really can't walk ? Exactly , no one , they just postpone the damn fight until a later date . Secondly , Martinez literally never laid one solid glove on this guy to whole fight , did u watch it ?

Martinez sold the lineal championship to the highest bidder, he knew his knees were gone so he took the fight that made him the most money, and that was the fight against Cotto.

Cotto has no business in the middleweight division. He don't want it with GGG, Quillen, Lemieux, or Canelo. And if he ever fights any of those guys he's gonna do it at a catch weight. Cotto is not middleweight fighter so he needs to stop pretending to be one and vacate the championship. He needs to let the real middleweights duke it out for the middleweight throne and move down in weight so he can chase an other fight against Mayweather.

Cotto's got nowhere to hide. He's cared to face GGG @160lb & PBF holds the ***** card @ light-middleweight. The feller's lost all my respect for this!
