Comments Thread For: Buddy McGirt Picks Mayweather, Says Pacquiao Can Win

Like oh so many boxing fans, Buddy McGirt wishes the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao would’ve happened a few years ago. Instead, it’s happening — finally, and thankfully — on May 2.

“But it could be a better fight now, being that both guys are a little older and have something to prove,” McGirt said. “I think that Mayweather should win the fight, but I won’t be surprised if Pacquiao beats him.

See,this is a perfectly fine and reasonable opinion, and I really have no quarrels with it. At least it's not like some of the ridiculous nonsense that gets posted on this site, like people saying that mayweather is going to whitewash, walk down, and knock out Pacquiao.

A few more combos won't save Floyd. Either he retreats and runs or he bites down and meet Pac in the middle. Either way Pac will be ready for him.

Time to separate the good from the greats.

What will you say when Floyd actually does this? I mean you act like Floyd can't do just that & to be honest he probably will. That's maybe one of his many plans to show the little test ducking juicer he should have ran back to Rob Arum & never signed the contract......

lol, this is fight of the century and it's been 1 sided in terms of predictions. I don't think anyone has said they will bet on Manny to pull it off besides Teddy Atlas and we know how his predictions go.

The general census from 99.9% has been Jr. will win but Manny has a chance to pull it off yet nobody is really willing to bet on that...

Nobody except the betting public, and when they go one way, the best bet is to go the other...

It doesn't matter what their opinions are at the end of the day. Truth is pacquiao has constantly proven critics/commentators/pundits/journalists wrong. He was an underdog against sasakul and pac demolished him, he was an underdog against ledwaba and he demolished him, underdog against Barrera and he demolished him, and underdog against dela hoya and he demolished him!!!!!!! When pac is doubted and is considered an underdog is when he puts on his GREATEST performance.

Critics and boxing journalists said pac needed to retire after he got viciously ko'ed and that he wouldn't be the same. Once again pac proved those people wrong by coming back and becoming world champion again (by beating top p4per Bradley).

Pac will beat Floyd and shock the world again. I know this.
