That poker face is really important, especially for a power puncher. A guy like Kovalev breaks people he thrives on that, it is much harder to break a guy who thinks he can hurt you.

That will directly effect how his fights go.

Luckily for him his eraser is bigger than most, which makes all that talk way easier said than done.

Well, how did you come to this philosophic conclusion about boxing (and life, at large)? You must be a genius of some sort.

When Koval gets hit with a good shot his respnce to it is a little shakey and he needs a moment to get it together. Most elite guys can mask that situation and give away nothing. He needs more and more experiences he only hass a handful of pro bouts and he's in there with pretty good guys.
It's not how many times you get knocked down that counts it's how many times you "don't get up"!

Good fight, good stopage, Pascal is awkward at best. Stevenson will be his test. Someone who could punch off his movement. Should be a straight up match.

His chin is not cast iron, you can see when some shots hurt him, and he buys time. He not like GGG who walks through your power.

But his chin is decent and only monster shots will put him down. Yet to see him caught with anything that big.

Stevenson has the power, but does he have the balls and will he be able to land it?

Aha!... And you're from Detroit, right?... Then I'll tell you a secret: Kovalev doesn't often have the occasion to fight the guy ranked at #3 in his division... Kovalev isn't that ******: he didn't stop Pascal in the 3rd (or 4th), he really wanted to learn the most from such a fight and stay in the ring as much as possible with a top level opponent... But as soon as Pascal became too "naughty" Kovalev sparked him easily. Get it?

That is jumping through a lot of hoops, I don't know that he is that sort of thinking fighter either that would be pretty deep. It is possible but I need to see a lot to really believe he is both (a killer and a thinker) because that kind of thing is extra rare.

With Pascal, no one should really fight like Roy Jones and no one is going to fight Kovalev like that ever again (most likely).
