I was surprised at how good Gomez looked tonight having only fought once in the last 35 months. He'll be a lot fresher his next time out.


Gomez/Guerrero makes all the sense in the world right now. FOTY type fight. End of the summer would be nice, August or September.

I agree, he did look gassed toward the end of the fight and it was only a 10 rounder.

Hes getting old tho so he should try and get a big winnable fight asap

Who is Gomez with? Is he a golden boy fighter or someone else because isn't Guerrero with Haymon? Guerrero vs Gomez would be a good fight to see if it's possible to make.

Yea all the ring rust isn't off yet. Hopefully he fights again in 4 or 5 months, he needs to stay active.

I thought I heard the announcer talking about Gomez and Kamegai fighting at 154 now, or at least tonight. Is Gomez still going to be a welterweight in the future? If he's no longer at welterweight, what you guys think about Gomez vs Roberto Garcia, dude who went to hospital before Porter PCB fight, at 154?

Alfonso Gomez is with Golden Boy and Robert Guerrero is with Al Haymon. It'd be a great fight, but we don't know if Golden Boy and Al Haymon will be working together anytime soon.

I think the more realistic options are Welterweights from GBP's stable like Sadam Ali, Pablo Cesar Cano, Alan Sanchez, or Johan Perez.

And maybe Jessie Vargas or Timothy Bradley if GBP and TR work together like they did for Sadam Ali vs. Carlos Abregu and Mauricio Herrera vs. Jose Benavidez Jr., .
