No one likes Broner anymore, because he got way too ****y and starting talking more than fighting. I liked Broner when he first got on HBO (1st round KO), but starting with the Paulie fight (classless) he got beat up by pillow fist, then he got even more brazen with Maidana (big mistake and he paid). He humped Maidana when he was bent over (funny cause Marcos got revenge later). He is trying way too hard for people to like him, he needs to shut up and fight.
Kovalev on the other hand, people like him because he is humble and doesn't really run his mouth about other fighters (Adonis is a duck, any real fighter would call him out). Did you hear how BHop praised Sergey? Also when a fighter kills another in the ring, it is a traumatizing experience and should not be held against them. No fighter wants to kill another fighter, Ray Robinson killed a man once, he actually dreamed about it and refused to fight, until they talked him into it and then it happened.
Your comparing things that can't be controlled (death in the ring) vs. things you can control (Broner's actions and behavior). So that explains everything why people feel the way they do.
