Pacquiao looked visibly tired against Bradley in the rematch, a fighter who has to sell out to land respectable punches up close and doesn't even have Mayweather's arsenal up close. I don't see anything that suggests it'll prove favorable for Manny. It's important to break Pacquiao down a bit early to have a smoother second half.

pac's stamina is not what it use to be.

but remember floyd is also old like pac.

i'll take old pac's stamina over old floyd's.

floyd is more use to cruising. if he tries to keep pace with pac, that might not be good for him.

this fight will be decided by pace and range.

a high pace at mid range, favors pac.

a slower pace at long range, favors floyd.

He's not going to meet him with his hands down and chin out. In fact, he's not going to meet him at all. He'll be coming forward using that jab to keep distance and also to pierce Pacquiao's head and body. Mayweather is defensively responsible no matter what he does.

I'm curious to see if this version of Pac will even do that, and IMO he has to do it to secure the win.

Few things:

Pac is a mid range fighter but you have to factor in the disparity in reach between the two. Mayweather is excellent and maintaining a distance advantageous to him. The key to walking Pacquiao down is that he'll keep that distance using the jab. Erik Morales used that very well.

Also, you can be patient and walk a fighter down. In fact, to walk a southpaw down...you need patience!

Finally, this isn't about who initiates first...it's about walking a fighter down. Floyd isn't going to start the fight on the attack. He'll box early on. When Manny starts to extend himself a bit, Floyd is going to apply steady pressure.
