Who are your top 3-10 Featherweights?

IMO the featherweight division has the most talented individuals and the best competition among the fighters.

Its one of best division together with welterweight imo

Mine are -

1)Lomachenko
2)Rigondeaux (after he move up)
3)Walters
4)Gonzalez
5)Gradovich (should have won against Velez)

then there are Mares, Vetyeka, Donaire, Cueller, Sonsona, Velez, Castellanos, TBA killer Russell etc. (I don't know how to rank the rest cos its so tight)

You can add any one at light featherweight who might be going up (Santa Cruz, Rigondeauz etc.)

Walters, Loma, Gonzalez are the best, I have no issue where they're ranked in the top three but I personally feel Walters is the best and has a big advantage over others because he's so damn big. He's going to be an amazing welterweight some day. I still think donaire is better than everyone else from 5-10, he just ran into a great boxer(rigo) and a bull (Walters).

1) Jhonny Gonzalez - Beating Abner Mares in a brutal fashion and retiring a bloated Arce is what got him here.

2) Nicholas Walters - KOing a bloated Vic and stopping Nonito Donaire in six is what got him to number 2.

3) Abner Mares - Beat a legit champion in PDL for the strap and although he got KO'd in the following fight he has had 2 decent comeback fights. Oquendo whom was a past contender(Mares looked like sh#t) and a decent fighter in Jose Ramirez.

4)Evgeny Gradovich - Should have won against Velez, beat Billy Dib twice and although he's the weakest champion in the division, he is doing good for himself even though he is quite limited.

5)Vasyl Lomachenko - Massive fan of the guy but realistically speaking he didn't earn either shot at the title. Has fought 2 worthy and notable opponents out of his 4 professional career and has displayed immense talent by beating down Kokietgym with one hand. If he keeps this up he will for sure carve his name out in the PFP rankings in the near future.

6)Robinson Castellanos - Two great back to back victories where he stole away the fight from his opponent in their own backyard. Not only did he derail a promising Ronny Rios but he also retired veteran Rocky Juarez. The new Salido of the division

7)Jesus Cuellar - Brutalized Lopez in 2 and beat a former World Champion in Rico Ramos. Not bad but neither fighter was world class at the point of the fight, hopefully he steps up and leaves the Tamayo's of the world for Gary Russel Jr.

8)Simpiwe Vetyeka - Talk about a dramatic turn of events for the guy. One minute he is flying high after dethroning and retiring an Indonesian boxing legend in Chris John and the next he loses his belt to Nonito in a controversial manner. To top it all off Nonito assured him he would get a rematch but the Donaire ends up losing his belt before the fight goes down. Regardless, he has won a fight since and is attempting to climb back to were he once stood at.

9)Gary Russel Jr - Why? Because as of lately little Gary grew a pair and is now being pitted against the monsters of the deep. Fighting Vasyl Lomachenko was one accomplishment for his hollow resume, attempting to go against the Bomber man himself in Gonzalez is a whole different story. Gotta respect T Rex arms here for his bravery.

10) Marvin Sonsona - I almost didn't put this lazy fighter on the list but Sonsona is a monstrous puncher with good speed!... until he gasses 3 rounds in His inactivity is beyond atrocious but he did revenge his lone loss last year against WV2 in a sloppy fight to win the NABF title.. meh, I suppose that's something.


The Featherweight division is great but I still believe the Flyweight division is the best and most underrated weightclass in the sport. Oh well, to each his own I suppose.

And I agree flyweight is awesome, just wish it had more exposure.

Yeah Donaire ran into a beast in Walters who has the size and power advantage similar to Donaire in the lower weight class. A pre-Walters destroyed Donaire might be competitive against the others and possibly beat most but now hes alittle on the down slide after the Rigo schooling.

Walters might be a beast but imo Lomachenko beat him just like Rigo beating Donaire. Both are highly skilled fighters who doesn't have a weak chin beating a monster puncher (might in Loma's case).

I think Rigo can still beat most if he goes up including Walters.

Seriously doe, although Jhonny hasn't fought a significant fight since Mares over a year and a half ago or so... that win alone placed him at the spot. Mares was a top 10 PFP ranked fighter according to the ****** Mag and was highly rated amongst other organizations. He knocked him the fluck out in 1.

Since then Nonito has looked like garbage, Loma lost to Salido and has only one notable win in Gary(whom was accustomed to fighting TBA). Evgeny constantly goes to war with C leveled fighters. Mares made a comeback against a decent former contender and an OK fighter in Ramirez and Walters has pretty much been the only other fighter aside from Jhonny with any real win over a good name.

The rest are either up and commers, a T Rex armed goofball whom will be KO'd here shortly, a lazy cheap Pacquiao imitation and this generations Salido. Not bad for a top ten I must say

LOL at T Rex arms but I hope Gonzalez KOs Russell too (something Loma can't) cos don't want the Haymon effect to come into play just like Vazquez-Bey.
