Exactly which was in Arum's power all along. Like Maliggnagii said, "everybody wants the fight they just want it on their terms".

that's presumptuous imo, seems to me it is Pacquiao who had the power.

Bear in mind HBO and Top Rank are two different en****** with different priorities.

Lying about negotiations to serve your purpose is not public pressure, its setting up your side to look as if they have done everything they can so that if the fight breaks down you look like the good guy. Arum lies Mayweather gets blamed. the cycle will continue, I dont know why I continue to try to explain it.
Then what was the point in Arum trying to set the fight up in first place? it's a lot of bother for someone to go to just to look like the good guy when negotiations fail. I don't think Arum's in business to look like the good guy in failing negotiations.

I wonder if there is a rematch would HBO/SHO want to work together again or would HBO wait till floyd finishes his contract with SHO since he would have 1 fight left?

I can now honestly admit that Floyd was a big part of the problem. Specifically his ego. Floyd was not going to give in until he got some backdown from that camp which Manny humbly was willing to do for the sake of the fight and for us the fans. We all know Floyd's a lil immature..petty lol but all is forgiven because here we are!

Cotto figured it out and to a small extent, Pac finally figured it out. Bob not involved and **** gets done!

Mayweather figured that out A LONG time ago when Bob blocked the biggest fight (of that time) De la Hoya vs Mayweather.

At the end of the say at least it became clear the networks had issues.

I depends on how the fight goes. If Pacquiao wins, gets a draw, loses closely contested or gets robbed, HBO/Top Rank/Pacquiao gain leverage for re-negotiations.

I dont think Hbo would wait.

It's really a sad thing, that Bob Arum's tactics have been so effective for so long! How did the person who walked away twice, and then walked into a wicked straight right, become the brave, fearless warrior, and the person who was willing to test, and made previous attempts, become the coward? It's all PR kid! Now you take away the lie about contracts, and you have to reflect on "what other bull**** have I fallen for in the past?" That's not swag!

I posted in main, but ill just re-iterate. According to fan dan, there isn't a rematch clause.

I agree with REED, this fight will never happen. It would have happened by now if it was going to happen at all. :2 cents:
