How is pointing out that FLoyds plan B isnt financially viable trying to stop the Floyd v Pac ?

He's basically saying you have to fight Pac because every other fight out there loses money for Showtime.

I know some people on here are desperate to believe Arum is stopping the fight but at least give a story that makes some sense. Im yet to see one though.

Mayweather-Cotto II is still one of the top 5 biggest PPV fights that can be made. Shut up, Bob.

No way cotto/mayweather II does 1MIL buys. People are seeing pics/vids of floyd face to face, news on how the fight is close....If it falls through people will be pissed and boycott Floyd/Cotto II. It will do like 700K.

Now this site is giving an hourly update on Arum's rants.

If Floyd was promoted by Arum he would endorse and heavily promote a Cotto/Floyd 2.

LMAO at everyone who believes Arum. First fight Mayweather was paid a guaranteed 32 million, Cotto 8 Million, Canelo and Mosley bout equaled about 3 million. Mayweather ended up with 45 million and Cotto supposedly between 15-13 million, which as you can see is the minimum guarantee that Arum "claims" both fighters would request. when Mayweather fought Canelo his guarantee was just under 42 mill, assume cotto wants 15-13 mill. Thats 57 million between the two. HBO PPV and live gate came out to just above 106 million, remember that number does not include theaters, concessions, sponsers and so on which is probably a few million more, Arum also doesnt factor in that the PPV is higher, first fight SD 59.95 HD 69.95, Mayweathers last fight SD 65 HD 75.

The fight would have to severely tank for Showtime to not make money, but yeah take the word of a man who has absolutely no agenda.

Also there would be no promotional companies to pay.

Except half that ppv money goes to cable companies, plus a tonne of other expenses, promotion alone would be in the millions.

A number of sources have said Floyd has to do 1.2mil to break even and thats not including Cottos cut.

The fight would lose $2mil at least.

Bobcat should know. Look at the crappy mismatch he put on last weekend. If he sold the bill of goods labeled Avarado-Rios III to HBO then Mayweather-Cotto 2 should be a classic with real titles at stake. Easy sale. I'd buy it. Cotto. Wants to keep that title that he bamboozled Martinez out of.

Post the sources.....and there articles......along with the proof.....

So let me get this straight, HBO had no problem making a profit, even though 1 of the undercards cost them 3 million. Do you think the undercards would be as pricey?

Using your "rumored" math, 3 fights at 1.2 million equals 3.6 million, as it stands based on numbers reported Mayweathers 3 PPV's with Showtime is just under 4million. So showtime is actually profiting then, correct? And we're not even including the live gate, the price of which continues to rise.

Like I said the fighters guarantees rise, the undercards lower, the PPV price rises, the live gate price rises, Closed circuit, concessions, sponsers etc....rises. Mayweather vs. Cotto would have to tank miserably in order for showtime not to make a profit, anywhere near 1 million should do ok. There is also no promoter to pay, that alone could cover some of the additional guarantee to the fighters.

Not my first choice of fight, but certainly do able for showtime.
