It amazes me how many of the posts here are based solely on the bank balance, endorsements, investments and other financial concerns of the two boxers in question. Are there really that many accountants and investment bankers trolling this site? What ever happened to "This guy should fight that guy because they are the top two competitors in their division."?
Why does the justification for a possible future match up have to be based on how wealthy the two boxers being considered are? I guess to a lot of people who would appear to be part of the new generation of boxing fans, the primary factor in determining whether a boxer should be considered as an opponent for a prospective world title bout is that he is as financially sound as the champion.
Should the point of interest and debate here be solely monetary? Are there people who have posted here that have investments in either Mayweather or Pacquiao that would be affected if they were to agree upon a future bout? No amount of squabbling about PPV numbers and elitist enterprising could convince me that a fight should or shouldn't happen. The fact that some fans are seemingly against this fight happening because of Pacquiao's financial problems is just compounding the problem and an example of what is wrong with the boxing world today.
It's not just the corrupt elements within the game itself that are destroying the integrity of a once great sport. It's also the fans who, instead of demanding accountability, stricter regulations and discipline to control and condemn the actions of those who make obvious attempts to manipulate and corrupt boxing, they would rather approve and reflect the actions of such individuals.
