if you think Cotto deserves a second fight with Mayweather before Pacquio deserves his first, then you really know nothing about boxing

If this fight falls apart because they're 5% apart on the pursed splits, then everyone is to blame. But if there's an agreement for the split, or no one brings that up as a reason, then we know Mayweather just wouldn't sign the dotted line
What numbers show that Floyd is entitled to 60%?

Here's what we know: Manny agreed to a 60-40 split so did Bob Arum... he says as much in various interviews...

Floyd: Offered Manny $40 mil Flat...

We're not talking about a few percentage points here... One guy, Floyd, is being completely unreasonable as far as what we know.. until I hear Floyd give what he's willing to accept split wise... how can anyone think this fight will happen?

I think Manny should give him until the Superbowl and that's it... if Floyd doesn't at least agree to 60/40 by Sunday...I'd move on if I were Manny and never negotiate this fight again... Manny should fight Kell Brook or Crawford or someone else... Let's focus on Plan B...because May and his ego are on another planet...

it's also laughable that you say cottos competition has been better. Delvin Rodriguez is way worse than Chris algieri, who is Pacquiao's worst opponent. you also say that Bradley was injured, but Martinez was injured worse than Bradley, WAY worse. Cotto also has a win over mayorga, who at that point is worse than Rios is now.
and regardless, my argument was that 95 percent of the sports world and boxing fans want to see the fight, even if you knew more about boxing, which you don't, who cares. The public is demanding this fight and it should happen

once again i want floyd pac like everyone else..i'm just not a fool enough to say i wouldnt watch floydcotto 2 or paccotto 2 a reasonable weight...

cotto was a tear before floyd..and fought him very tough..then he got fat vs trout..but since that went right back to stopping ppl...4-2 in his last six all wins by ko...only think pac has on him is the factor that we havent seen floydpac yet
...pac 4-2 in his last six fight..could be 3-3 bc he should have lost to marquez on the 3rd bout..he got rocked hard by a hurt bradley in the second fight..and he's still gettin hit wit the same right hand jmm hurt him with algieri just did not have enough power to do anything..so to down cotto is nuts..but once again im donw with floyd pac, but i happen to think cotto might be more competitive if the experts are right
my fan hood says pacs beats floyd but the facts kinda say he wont..bc floyd to good at finding openings anywhere in the ring

If he takes Cotto, Canelo will come, the same night, with that ex-convict beast on regular HBO... Deep shit granted.

its not being a fool, you are entitled to your opinion and consumer purchase ability. In my mind, at this point, it's enough. I only want to see Mayweather fight Pacquiao, otherwise I choose not to purchase his fights. That's my choice, and my way to voice my displeasure in his continued ducking of the very top challenges. If you choose otherwise, that's your decision as well

Agreed, another good post. 60/40 Is very reasonable considering that Mayweather Is the A side. Anything less for Pacquiao and he needs to move on.

Pacquiao, almost literally, has no other fight that would get him even $30m; a point that's pretty common knowledge, tbh.

Floyd can fight Khan (US and UK PPV, plus TV rights throughout Europe, Pakistan and the Middle East) or fight Cotto again (chasing a sixth divisional championship, Cotto "giving him his toughest fight", Cotto "being reborn under the guidance of Freddie Roach", etc) and comfortably make $45m in May, with eyes toward a joint Mayweather-Alvarez 2 PPV fight in September for another $65m, all without having to deal with Arum.

Ego is a heck of a thing to deal with; control is even worse.
