    Everyone would’ve understood had Bernard Hopkins called it a career following his 12-round shutout loss to Sergey Kovalev. The fact that he even made it to that point – still near the top of the light heavyweight division, 26 years into his pro career and two months shy of his 50th birthday – is a testament to an incredible career heading to the Hall of Fame five years from the moment he retires.

      Can't blame Hopkins for trying to secure his retirement fund against Froch.

      Fight does absolutely nothing for Froch.

              Absolutely NOT.

              I love it how everyone was praising Hopkins in that birthday celebration thread, as if it's over. Almost like a career funeral of sorts.

              He should fight on and keep trying to collect more titles. If there is someone weak out there that holds a title, they deserve to be exposed by hopkins.

                  Yeah that's really intelligent. Convince yourself you can still compete with the elite while you are damn near pushing 50 with younger contingents. This is boxing not golf.

                  If you didn't think Hopkins lost more than a step or two recently than you're sadist.
