There's only one reason the fight won't happen and that is Floyd is unconvinced he will win decisively. Even if he won by UD but with a busted face "ala Margarito of Cotto" he won't sign. 50 Cent has a point to be considered or we're all cry babies.

I think the fight is signed. I was watching the Cavs Lakers game on new years day and Marv Albert brought up the fight, saying lets hope it get signed, and it sounded like a promotional drop to me. He definitely was reading the statement about the fight off a card or something. Plus no reason to bring it up on a nationally televised Bball game broadcast.

If the fight doesn't happen on May 2nd, it's safe to say Floyd and Floyd alone backed out. HBO & Showtime don't hold meetings often about joint PPV ventures and when they did for Lewis-Tyson, it got done! But I could see Showtime say that they did not agree to terms with HBO just to save Floyd from embarrassment. They have to protect their #1 fighter's image.

Since there are only two fight left in their contract, Showtime will unequivocally demand that Floyd's last fight be against Pacquiao.

It is very much possible that this fight is already signed and done, has been planned for a very long time, and they are all in on it behind the scenes and just waiting for the right time to announce it.. but then again, going by history and the character of Floyd it more than likely isn't going to happen.. they will just continue trying to milk their "cash cow" for all they're worth before putting them in with the ultimate test.

..at least until his contract with SHO expires or w/e so he can make even more $$$ while screwing more people over, but by that time it may be too late.. fkn self-centered greedy little brat fake champ may have costed us the biggest fight of our lifetimes.. the FEAR is REAL.

Floyd backed out and Floyd alone? Thats the typical treatment Floyd Mayweather gets by the media. If you kept up with reports you would know the latest setback is by HBO. Lewis-Tyson had a condition where whichever fighter won, that network got exclusive rights to the replay the following week. This time around HBO is trying to get the rights to the replay nomatter what the outcome is, because they believe Floyd is the favorite. So no... Its not all on Floyd if this fight doesnt happen but people will still ignore everything and say he didnt want the fight.
