I think this is a significant blow to Oscar's status as a promoter. If he wanted to this fight to happen he should have kneecapped Canelo months ago.

Another big fight not happening. Add it to the list...Like said above, unfortunately that's boxing now. We didn't get Donaire v Mares, Stevenon v Kovalev, GGG v Cotto or Martinez, pac v floyd obviously. Unfortunately 1v2 hardly happens anymore bc of politics. Garcia v Matthyse was the exception bc they were both Golden Boy at the time. Otherwise, the top fights just don't happen anymore and it's ruining the sport

I really hope boxing fans don't buy may v cotto II. We want may v pac and cotto v canelo ( or GGG, but that ain't happening either) . Only way to speak is wit the wallets. Let them know it's not what I want. Thats why, other than Canelo haven't bought a may fight in 3 yrs. Bc they're all low risk.
In retrospect, we can say martinez was washed up. But mayweather wouldn't have taken that risk. Cotto should've fought canelo but at least he has a history of taking on all comers. The guy has fought pac, may, mosely, Margarito twice, judah, clottey, Martinez, malignaggi when undefeated , quintana when undefeated, Yuri Foreman when undefeated, Trout when undefeated, etc.

Calling it right now Cotto vs Trout 2 and Cotto gets 2 million flat for that fight on hbo. One thing to be the A-side another thing to expect the world to wait on you forever. He wanted to wait and if he doesn't get floyd or pacquaio there is nobody for cotto to fight that's ppv worthy at a 155 catch weight.
