Canelo said he'd fight GGG at a later time possible 2016. It's easy to say that when you're focused on trying to get Cotto into the ring for a fight in May of 2015.

Now that Canelo seems to have had enough of Cotto, you never know if he'd fight GGG. I seriously don't know why people think Canelo would duck GGG?

If anything he has shown his ability to take on the tough fights. He fought Trout when he didn't have to. Fought Mayweather when he could have waited to be more seasoned. Fought Angulo only after Cotto turned down 10 million. Fought Lara when no one out there is calling out Lara.

I'm a big Cotto fan myself but lets be serious. Oscar came out and said they would step off the May 2nd date if Pac/Floyd happens for that date.

Cotto has a reputation of turning into a princess during negotiations where he is the A-side. I remember Martinez saying that Cotto was constantly threatening to cancel the fight unless every single demand was met.

Cotto being difficult in negotiations is common knowledge.

Cotto vs Margarito 2 was on the verge of not being made because Cotto who was fighting at 154 at the time was insistent on making it a catch weight and wanted a rehydration clause. Arum finally got them to agree at 153.

Cotto vs Martinez: Martinez was so sick of the negotiations, he's the one that began calling Cotto a diva.

Now Cotto vs Canelo.

Again the date is insignificant. Cotto's own advisor admitted that Oscar and Canelo were willing to move the date if May/Pac gets made. He also admitted that Canelo would have no problem fighting in NYC. This is all Cotto being the diva he is.

This is what I've been saying. The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight isn't even made. Why wait on a fight that for 5 damn years hasn't been made. If the date is available right now, take it! You can always move the venue and date if Pacquiao/Mayweather gets made.

155 against light middleweights, the only one who has fought an actual middleweight is cotto, and if this fight doesn't happen that's who we should push to fight golovkin, not canelo, not until he gets some fights at middleweight against a middleweight
