British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) feels WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has two choices for the opponent's slot on May 2nd.

Khan is looking to get Mayweather on that date. Mayweather says that he wants to face WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on that date.

Khan sure is getting enough attention based on an 'ok/good' win.

I doubt Mayweather will fight. I would prefer to see Cotto vs Canelo on May 2nd Cinco de Mayo weekend and on the undercard Khan vs Garcia 2 @ 147lbs on the at the AT&T Stadium, or the University of Phoenix Stadium.

That place will be loaded with Mexicans and Puerto Ricans makes boxing more exciting.

If not Pacquiao or Khan, then who??? Nothing else makes any sense. Maybe a rematch with Cotto for the ring magazine middleweight championship, but I don't think that will sell as well as a fight with Manny or Khan. Plus, at this stage, Khan is the biggest threat to Floyd. His height, length, and speed may be too much for the older fighter.

Khan is a great threat, not sure he can press the action enough to land a decent chance mbp or even win over the judges. I would love to be proven wrong, and I'm sure khan would do great for a while. I just think mayweather will take over before too long.

Come on man, that was a spectacular performance. No one has done that to Alexander before, he got completely dominated and schooled. This guy has 300-10 amateur record, 3 time world champ and Khan just schooled the kid. That was an excellent performance. I just hope Devon doesn't consider retirement like Barrera, Maidana, Paulie, Judah and Collazo did after Khan whupped them the same way.

Floyd vs Khan > Manny vs Vargas.

Title is a little off, in the article Khan said Mayweather is making himself look bad by "backing down from fights".

I don't think too many would disagree with that.
