I don't know what kind of cities you guys live in but in philly, there's a FREE concert every 4th of July downtown on the parkway, FREE!!
Jay-Z, and many other superstars come there every year and perform.

Damn near the whole city is out there all day and night until the fireworks are done at like 11pm-12am.

The people that aren't there are outside, mostly in parks having BBQs or having a block party.

No one will be in the house, because being in the house when things are buzzing like that outside is like tourture.
Even people that don't go anywhere is still outside on the steps or at the block party dancing on playing games/cards in the middle of the street.

The people willing to sacrifice a once a year day to just be happy all day and with family, are very few.

It has nothing to do with NYC or not wanting to fight in front of a PR crowd. It has everything to do with money. Everyone knows that Cinco de Mayo weekend is a big boxing date, its the reason Floyd fights on these dates.

Canelo has fought Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, all tough guys in a row, but morons like you still criticize the competition the guy was fighting when he was 21 and 22.
No, you're the moron. If Floyd fights anyone on May 2nd... even if Canelo fights Cotto they won't make as much money if they fought in June with no one to go up against. This also has NOTHING to do about buys or money, if HBO announced Cotto/Canelo for June in NY you're telling me people will say:

"Eh, who cares it's not on Cinco de Mayo, I'm not watching it." That's just as ****** as saying Floyd/Pac needs to happen on a specific date or even a promotion. If they made Floyd/Pac it could be for December 24th at 11:45 pm and will still do 3 million buys. The date for a big fight means absolutely nothing.

If he is moving off of that date it will probably be before the Canelo / Cotto fight.

The date is not as important as the opponent.

If Mayweather/Pacquiao happens then the date could be moved. But up into now, and for the past 5 years there is no indication that a Pac/Mayweather fight will happen.

Because of this, it is why Canelo has been pushing for the May 5th dates. Unless Pac/Mayweather somehow comes off, then we're looking at a Cotto/Canelo fight in May, which is the one that makes the most sense.

While people will still buy the fight in June, the fight will sell better in May. I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand that? Must be a personal thing you have against Canelo.

If Mayweather vs Canelo got the DSG vs Lucas Matthysse in the undercard, then Mayweather vs Pacquiao is deserving of the Cotto vs Canelo undercard. So both Mayweather and Canelo can ge tthe May 2nd date. Win/Win. I'm sure they both want to headline, but Mayweather vs Pacquiao *****s Cotto vs Canelo. And Mayweather defeated Canelo. If Canelo wanted to headline May 2nd, then he should have won. Fair, right?

So Floyd isn't going to fight on that weekend out of the goodness of his heart? You're an idiot plain and simple. Floyd will fight that weekend and if Canelo/Cotto do it will outdraw Floyd vs anyone not named Manny. But, it's really ****** business because moving it to June will give it no competition and make more money. It isn't anything personal against Canelo, I don't know the guy but he is literally going to duck Cotto because he would have to fight 4 weeks later and 3,000 miles away.

Also the fight only makes sense to a Mexican or Canelo fan, I'm neither. Being that I'm a Cotto fan and puerto rican, then the fight makes more sense in NY on June 9th. Taking out the bias for each fighter what are we left with?

Cotto is the better proven draw.
Cotto has been in the game longer.
                    Cotto is champion.

What exactly does Canelo bring to this situation to dictate any terms again? Because he's Mexican and it's Cinco de Mayo weekend? He did get to fight on that date last year and he got Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl type of a loss. If he'd won that fight no one could argue with him, your or anyone else. He didn't win so he, like you, need to rub some sand in your sensitive p*ssy and deal with it. Canelo is not in the driver's seat, Floyd is MAY DAY and if Canelo wants to stay on Floyds undercard (albeit on a different channel) all the power to him. He's just an absolute fool you're all too happy to defend.
