Remember when Floyd said that Americans shouldn't support Pacquiao because he makes money here and brings it back to his country?

Well be patriotic Floyd. Stand behind your words and give back to the Americans who've been supporting you throughout your career. What better way than to host the biggest ppv this country has ever seen on the most patriotic day of the year?

This is pathetic......this is like the twilight zone.smdh.

"most fans are like rocks.....you can kick them any direction you want."
          -bob arum

Arum is a liar but he is 1000% right when he says this.

but I thought no one watches boxing in the summer? at least those were the rumblings when hbo and sho had low numbers this year

Has nothing to do with Arum. Its has more to do with common sense.

I'd pay to watch Floyd/Pacquiao on a sunday afternoon and so would the majority of the boxing world.

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday and would make much more sense from every standpoint to have Cotto/Canelo on that date. It will maximize revenue for everyone involved. That fight while huge wouldn't be as huge on a regular date.

Pac/Floyd on the other hand will do the same #'s on Cinco de mayo as they would on any sat of the year. The fight will sell out in minutes and the date would have zero effect on revenue.

Ideally I would love to see both fights. Cotto/Canelo on May 2nd and Pac/Floyd on any Sat the month prior or before. If both Cotto and Canelo are willing to move off the date so that history can be made between Pac and Floyd, then cool. I just want to see both fights. I don't care which date they fight on.

I'm only 30 years old but I'm embarrassed at how entitled some of you guys and your diva fighters are. Canelo, not even ONE TIME in 40+ fights has never not had home court advantage, the ginger p*ssy can't even do it once. He got beat badly in front of all his fans by Floyd and he doesn't even have the balls to go to NY one time. I can't wait until he fights Salka or his rematch with Josesito Lopez and loses, it will be great to see.

Or... even better would be Floyd/Cotto 2 going up against Canelo vs bum of the month 3. Let's see how well he does against that card, more people will spend $75 to watch that fight than tune in for free against Canelo.
You are no better. You are the biggest cotto fan boy here. Cotto is probably the biggest diva aside from Floyd and you hold on to every word he says. "Cotto is the a side." "Cotto should demand anything he wants."

Americans care more about ufc than boxing.
