It makes you wonder why hes stayed with Arum really doesn't it? A few years back before renewing his contract he could of left Arum, it would of opened him to more fights outside of Top Rank at the time and he wouldn't have to give his promoter such a big cut of his purse, why did he sign with him again? It is disrespectful to not let a Mexican star fight on a Mexican holiday. If you say arum and Pacquiao are scared to fight Mayweather. How is fighting the month after May suggest being scared???

If Canelo said I'll fight on July 4th and Mayweather was saying "I wanna fight on July 4th its an American Holiday" then Canelo would be disrespecting the American People by not stepping aside.


And if you want to be dumb and bring up the fact that Pacquiao has fought on during the Cinde de Mayo Holiday. It was against Hatton and Mosley. And there WAS NO MEXICAN STAR then. And Pacquiao was NOT stepping on any other Mexican or Mexican-American trying to fight on those dates either.

It's Mayweather trying to act like he wants to fight. But coming up with sorry excuses not to fight. Like They said what's the difference between fighting 1 month after??? it's not taking away ANY money because Mayweather and Pacquiao will be the biggest fight in history.

Very ****** comment, Bob. While I'm no fan of Mayweather the person, he's never ONCE "poached" this holiday in Mexico, where it is a holiday. All of his fights that have been the weekend of May 5th have been in the U.S.A. In the U.S., May 5th is just another day.... a reason for people to get wasted.

Now, if he went to Mexico City for these fights... then you might be on to something.

I'm a Mexican American and I wouldn't find it disrespectful if Mayweather vs Paquiao were to happen on Cinco De Mayo weekend.

A lot of the Mexican, and Mexican American people that I know still hope that the fight can still happen, so they can place in their bets.

If I can pick which fight I rather watch it's gotta be Pac vs Mayweather over Canelo vs Cotto.

Arum should try to convince the TMT team to fight on July 4th which lands on a Saturday next year.

That would be a win, win situation for us fans.

Getting Canelo vs Cotto on May and getting Pac vs Mayweather in July, but Arum is talking out of his a## about disrespecting the Mexican people.
