Comments Thread For: Sulaiman Does Not See Khan, Canelo in WBC Tourneys

Earlier today BoxingScene's Rick Reeno reported that the WBC approved promoter Sampson Lewkowicz's proposal to have eight man tournaments in the 147 and 154 pound weight divisions. The tournaments would end with a single winner in each division who would become the mandatory challenger to fight for Floyd Mayweather's title. Mayweather holds both the WBC and WBA's welterweight and super welterweight titles.

Correction: Khan presently holds a belt that was GIVEN to him for no reason what-so-ever. It holds no significance outside of, or within the WBC and is equivalent to someone going to Macy's buying a belt and giving it to the winner of a fight.

Why then, is it being mentioned as something relevant?

That's exactly what I said immediately after I red it (Yesterday, 09:40 PM)...

Obviously Canelo wouldn't be in a junior middleweight tournament!!! Canelo has 155lbs on lock

Kinda like that phony 8th division silver title fought at 150lbs between unranked junior middleweight Manny Pacquiao and unranked junior middleweight Antonio Margarito
