Have you ever seen a tourney bracket? Its very feasible to have all 8 face eachother in a year.

well since you asked, I put together the top 8 ranked fighters in the WBC at Super Welterweight & Welterweight ... the WBC specifically said top 8, and if the tournament is seeded here's what the pairings would look like .. first with Super Welterweight

1. Saul Alvarez versus #8. Jonathan Gonzalez
#4. Anthony Mundine versus 5. John Jackson

#2. Vanes Martirosyan vs #7. David Zegarra
#3. Jermell Charlo versus #6 . Sergey Rabchenko

and Welterweight

1. Amir Khan vs 8. Robert Guerrero
4. Antonin Decarie vs 5 Marcos Maidana

2. Luis Carlos Abregu LATINO vs #7 . David Avanesyan

obviously those names have to commit, but with Canelo & Khan ranked #1 at 154 and 147 ... maybe the WBC could give them byes to speed up the process, although of the pairings Khan having to go through Guerrero followed by Maidana would be good network fights
