    SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (20-2-2, 12 KOs) retained his WBA Super Welterweight World Championship with a convincing 12-round unanimous decision victory over Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith (26-7, 12 KOs) in the SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION main event Friday night from The Illusions Theater at The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

    After a strong first round for Smith, Lara dominated the remainder of the fight using a combination of movement, speed and accuracy to secure the decision 117-111, 119-109 twice.

          all the floyd haters should be screaming for this fight, because he's the only threat to may IMO, forget pac he'll get outboxed and thurman is too green.

              This fight would be a nightmare for floyd, he have to make the fight, Lara would be a pain in the ass to grab, Bayless would penalize Lara for excessive footwork, fans would boo, even if lara was undefeated having 3 belts this fight wouldnt happen, it damn sure aint happening now.

                Never understood why even the Mayweather haters don't want this fight. Would it be a chess match for the entire 12 and some of you find it boring, sure.

                Lara even more so than Pacman has the highest chance of upsetting Floyd, I'd give Lara an 80% chance, dude is an absolute nightmare for Floyd. Lara has longer reach, is fast, accurate, athletic, has decent pop and is one of the best boxers in the game.

                I know people would bring up the Canelo comparison but in my opinion that holds no validity as to what'll happen if Floyd were to face Lara.

                It truly is amazing when even Floyd haters don't want him in with Lara who has a very high chance of giving Floyd his first official loss. Makes me think they're closet flowmos.
