    Cotto's best Option is FRAUD,

and FRAUD's best Option is Cotto....

At 160, Cotto has a Chance against FRAUD, and

Slim and None against GGG or the El Cinnamon Gato!!!

You know Floyd would want the lion's share, but wouldn't they be fighting for Cotto's MW belt? Fighting for Floyd's LMW belt again doesn't bring as much excitement, considering Floyd won the first fight. Cotto's stock raised when he beat Martinez, so how much would he be willing to bend to meet Floyd's demands? Would he be willing to defend his belt while coming down to a catch weight, because Mayweather would struggle to make full MW? Doubtful.

While a fight with Canelo might not do much for Cotto's legacy, it does support the age-old Puerto Rican vs Mexican rivalry. Canelo, despite being over-hyped and rushed to PPV status, is still wildly popular among Hispanics. Make this fight happen on Cinco De Mayo weekend, and they'll have a marketing powerhouse that could easily eclipse a fight with Floyd. If anything, Mayweather's stock took a big hit after the running, grabbing and holding he displayed in the second fight with Maidana. Frankly, I believe Cotto vs Canelo will be more exciting than Mayweather vs anyone but Pacquiao.
They'd probably fight at 155 and Cotto would be fine with that, that's as big as he gets. It's the most he's ever weighed for a fight, he could make 150 easily I think but he doesn't want to.

As for the money with Floyd, Cotto would get more simply because it would require more to get Cotto away from Canelo. It really isn't even Cotto's name himself, it's Cotto's name with Canelo that worries Floyd. When those two are in the marquee they are bigger than Floyd vs anyone (except Manny.) The same is also true though for Floyd, right now at this point Floyd vs Cotto is better than any name Canelo vs anyone as well. Canelo is just outgunned with Floyd and it's no fault of his own.

Also, if we're going to use the theory that Manny should get 33% against Floyd because of what he got with Algieri relative to their PPV numbers. Cotto did 375k againt Martinez and that's 40% of what Floyd did against Maidana. I know some fl*mo's are going to be pissed when they see this but this is what happens when you don't body of work into account. Cotto should really be entitled to 40% of the purse then using those numbers. Am I trolling? A bit but Cotto did get 35% last time, he wasn't getting ****ed like these other guys and it shows. 900k and 1.5 million buys is a lot more than a loss of 16 million. Hell, showtime can give Cotto 16 million and still make money if the buy rate matches their first fight.

375k against Martinez? Got a source for that? I heard it was barely over 300k.

They say 350k, I saw a tweet posted on here of 375. We can go with 350k then that's like 1% lol.

The only reason Espinoza was bashing Cotto's numbers is because he thought Canelo/Cotto was going to happen. Well, Showtime has had enough of Espinoza tail wagging the dog type of management and it's obvious Showtime isn't playing around when a top dog at CBS is talking about making a Manny/Floyd fight. That fight might not happen but Floyd isn't going to get away with fighting no-hopers and non-draws anymore.

Read this article, not just post about it. It CLEARLY states that Cotto has no contract with ANYONE and he can work with whoever he wants and that's from Cott's team. So... call Cotto a duck if you want because the facts prove 100% otherwise. I actually thought you were a knowledgeable poster, everything you said in this whole post was wrong and it's all in the story that this thread started from. I'll be prepared for the next excuse on how Coto is ducking Canelo, he'll get more money, fame and glory if he were to fight and beat Floyd. Canelo offers nothing, NOTHING to Cotto if Floyd is in the discussion... Well, I shouldn't say nothing. Canelo's and Oscar's begging for the fight is giving Cotto a lot of leverage to squeeze Floyd for a little more money.
first of all this site reported that haymon was trying to steal cotto as a rumor, there wasnt even a known source for that...
and just because the OP says cotto has no network contract doesnt mean is true, it was previously reported by several sources including pena, de la hoya & kevin iole among others that cotto has a network contract... but i guess jake donovan is a more trusted source for you...
just think about it, the main reason canelo goes to hbo is for the cotto fight...

They'll probably wanna make the annoucnement when the iron's hot. That's why Canelo should of been fighting Clottey this month. I bet there will be an announcement when more boxing fans are tuned in, maybe after Khan vs Devon
