How do you figure Cotto is the b-side.
actually your entire post makes no sense. Cotto always takes tough competition and has fought virtually every good fighter near his weight the past 10-12 yrs. His level of competition is very impressive: Pac (at his very best), Mayweather, Mosely (when he was top lb 4 lb fighter), Zab (when he was still top 5 welter), Margarito (when he was at his best), Trout ( undefeated high risk, low reward fight for him), Martinez ( who was past his best but still considered top 10 lb 4 lb), and add wins over Malignaggi, Quintana, Ricardo Torres, and Yuri Foreman who were all undefeated, and solid fighters, Clottey and Randall Bailey. Who has he missed??? Every fighter will have a couple gimme like his wins over Mayorga and Alphonso Gomez, but he's consistently looked to fight the best.

Probably sick of floyd avoiding his(or moonves's) calls. Nobody has to wait on floyd, he either pulls his finger out of his arse and makes the fight or life goes on.

Did Bob say he's negotiating to get Floyd signed to fight Manny on the date Floyd has reserved at the MGM? I thought he just wants to get Floyd to commit to fighting Manny, regardless of the date.

Either way, all the pressure seems to be on Floyd to get things signed with Manny. It looks like first dibs for May 2 goes to whoever has signed contracts done first.

I see two scenarios and/or possibly one of two sub-scenarios playing out:

1. Floyd is the first to announce an agreement (to fight Manny)...on his usual chosen date and venue. Obviously Cotto/Alvarez can't compete and would move to another date. All the worldwide fans who have been waiting to see this fight will rejoice, and Floyd gets respect. (Bob & Oscar high-five on mission accomplished.)

2. Cotto/Alvarez is announced first, for May 2. If this is the case, things get a little more tricky.

(a) If Floyd signs to fight Manny, even though his agreement comes AFTER the Cotto/Alvarez announcement, his every diva demand would obviously have been met and Cotto/Alvarez would be bumped off Cinco de Mayo. Or Floyd could be the bigger man, leaving Alvarez his Mexican holiday, and choose any other date...knowing this record setting fight does NOT need that Mexican date to maximize revenue. (Bob & Oscar high-five on mission accomplished.)

(b) If Floyd ducks and signs to fight any other fighter but Manny on May 2...then Bob, Oscar & Canelo can confidently keep their first dibs on the date and proceed to go head to head with Floyd's MGM showcase, knowing Floyd's CBS/Showtime BOSS will tap out, acknowledging that the public backlash against cowardice and refusal for a record payday ("easy money" against an "easy work midget") is not profitable for their network. (Bob & Oscar high-five on mission accomplished.)


LOL...as I said on another thread, I wouldn't put it past Bob & Oscar to have ended their cold war to scheme & collaborate together in forcing Floyd's hand into facing Manny (and throwing a wrench into Haymon's agenda).

Do it for the fans (and easy money), Floyd! The time is NOW!

Arum doesn't even run things anymore, it's all DuBeoff. An article on yahoo stated that Todd was pissed when Arum started talking about the negotiations. That tells me Arum is sitting on his ass talking while Todd is doing all the leg work, which should satisfy Floyd because Bob is out of the picture. If Floyd is mad that Arum is talking... no way a fl*mo can defend that can they?

You have to have a learning disability. Cotto is also talking with Floyd while Oscar is out there begging for a fight to be done but has to feed Canelo's ego saying he's the bigger draw and why is the bigger draw? Because he got completely outclassed by Floyd, that's Canelo's big leg to stand on. "I won no rounds against Floyd and everyone was watching! I have 10 million fans now."
