Drenlou, you are what's wrong with this world. Scientific Illiteracy at its finest. This goes for everyone that agreed with you. Your doctor who told you this was not taught this in medical school. This is what we in the medical community call 'pseudoscience'.

And to those individuals talking about vegan diets and punching power, there is no evidence to suggest any link between the two and if there is, a link to a journal would be appreciated. Plant based food has enough protein for an athlete if the specific foods are chosen on any given day. And if you're going to talk about the 'completeness' of the protein, this is why a vegan would have protein from different sources in any given day which would 'complete' the protein (unless you're eat soy which has complete protein).

I don't know about all this hot water breaking down fats talk but I can draw an analogy to working out at the gym and sinus blockage. If you have ever had a sinus infection of phlegm in your lungs, working out or running for a period of time gets your body temperature up and breaks that stuff down and your body excretes it very rapidly.

I have chronic sinus issues every winter and every time I run on the treadmill, my nose runs constantly after a couple miles. By the time I leave, my nose is nice and clear though....nothing you can purchase from the store can touch good old fashion exercise. If "snot" is similar to fat, it stands to reason that it it can be more readily handled by the body at a higher temperature.

Though, your body is at a steady 98.6 degrees so you would have to drink some hot freaking water to bring the overall temperature of your stomach acid up enough to break down the fat at a noticeably faster rate..which occurs above 120 degrees.

The reason why your sinus is cleared up during exercise is largely to do with the fact that the sympathetic nervous system is activated during exercise. The sympathetic system stimulates the release of adrenaline from your adrenal glands (specifically the adrenal medulla). Adrenaline activates the beta-2 receptors on the smooth muscles of your bronchi and bronchioles. This dilates them which increases the rate at which the mucus can be cleared.

And onto your 2nd point about fat breakdown in the stomach via acid. This is false. Fat is broken down by bile and pancreatic enzymes which is made by the liver and pancreas respectively.

Think of it like this, would you ever clean a greasy pan with cold water? Of course not you would have to use hot water to break down the grease... its the same thing in the human body, hot water helps to break down the fats faster and digest faster as well.
Your body doesn't need warm liquids to help break down fat, There's a reason your body releases bile into the small intestine, which is to emulsify fat and help absorbtion. Hot water doesn't dissolve fat since fat is hydrophobic.

The level of fat is also dependant on what cut of beef it is, london broil is very lean.

theres been new research on how eating a high fat , moderate protein , low carb breakfast is best for fat loss because it programs your metabolism to burn fat for the rest of the day
