Comments Thread For: Vasyl Lomachenko Drops, Dominates Piriyapinyo To Win

Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macau, Macau - Two-time Olympic gold medalist Vasyl Lomachenko (3-1, 1KO) won a twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (52-2, 33KOs) to retain the WBO featherweight championship for the first time. All three judges had it a shutout, 120-107.

Lomachenko took control early, using his boxing skills to frustrate Piriyapinyo in the early rounds. It was a calculated boxing match with Lomachenko using pawing shots to set up much bigger punches. Lomachenko was really working over Piriyapinyo in the third with shots to the head and body. The Thai challenger was barely able to keep up as he was getting hit with shots from all angles.

Would love to see Walters put Loma to sleep. Seems like Loma doesn't have the power to keep Walters of him.

Beautiful to watch. Lomachenko is immensely skilled. Dominated even with an obviously injured left hand. He's lucky Piryapino is not a world beater though otherwise I'm not sure he could have gotten away with fighting with one hand. But he adjusted.

No, he broke the wrist which is attached to his power hand, idiot. Then he continued to utterly dominate every single second of the remaining 6 rounds.

I know for a fact Lomachenko is right handed. His left is not his power hand.
