A shady Margarito. So regardless it was a huge win for Pacquiao and impressive for how he did it. There were times where he backed into the ropes, covered up and could be seen grinning as he let Cotto pound to his body. He ate a killer left hook in the 7th that would've floored a whole lot of cats. He hasn't looked as powerful since. Not even close and it isn't because people stopped coming forward. He's still hitting them. A lot.
Guys he fought post 2010 like Marquez, Bradley and Mosley all moved backwards around the ring away from him once they realised they couldn't hang toe to toe.Last edited by Weebler I; 11-22-2014, 01:45 AM.

You're describing punch resistance, not power. Reality is he was never that powerful at welter weight, he was just unbelievably fast and still is.

We're not talking a move down, we're talking Paulie's claim that Pacquiao lost power in the last few years, while boxing at '47.
It's nonsense, Pacquiao was never a KO artist at WW and the stoppage wins have been harder to come by because most of his recent opponents run (move, box or whatever you want to call it), just like Algieri will.
Put Pacquao in against come forward guys like Maidana, Porter, Guerrero and they'd either get the De La Hoya, Cotto, Margo treatment or cover up and hide like Clottey.
Styles maketh fights.Last edited by Weebler I; 11-22-2014, 01:59 AM.

Pacquiao was just very powerful that night. Period. And hasn't looked like that since.
Why? because Margarito came forward and Pacquiao was too fast for him, just like Cotto, De La Hoya and Hatton.
All this Pacquiao has lost power nonsense is just that, nonsense. Like I said, put him in with come forward guys like Guerrero, Maidana, Porter and people would be saying he's got power back again, when in reality nothing changed except the approach of the opposition.

Also, straight out of Tim's mouth, he said Pacquiao didn't hit as hard as he did in the first fight. I would guess he's lying as well right?
