MACAO - Manny Pacquiao weighed in at 143.8lb Saturday for his welterweight world title defence, but his opponent Chris Algieri had trouble on the scales ahead of Sunday's fight.

Undefeated American Algieri could not make the catchweight limit of 144lb and was still 0.20lb over after a second attempt despite stripping down to his bare essentials at the Saturday morning weigh-in (Friday night in the US) at the Venetian Macau's Cotai Arena.

Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs) was given two hours to sweat off the remaining weight and came back for a third attempt which saw him finally go under at 143.6lb.

allthough cris is the best pure boxer at 140 and should not be overlooked !!!!! i think manny is a man on a mission and he is going to come in rthe same manny that destroyed cotto , and destroyed hatton !!!! even though floyd fans are trying to down play this fight , i think many has done something that floyd has been ducking and dodging for years !!!!!!! and that is fighting a live opponent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I agree, hec. I also think another danger is the fact that Chris might be a sleepy weepy head from having to get up early in Macau. Word is though Algieri's mommy is going to skype him a lullaby, and if the lullaby is solid -- I think Chris should be well rested and ready to rock and roll with a one punch KO range finding jab.
