He was at his peak about 2009. He was in his prime from 2007 to 2011.

Whenever he wasn't losing according to most morons here.

He was in his prime from before he won a title. People are morons around here. Don't confuse prime with hitting your peak. Very, very different things. Prime is a reasonably long period, whereas peak is usually fairly short, particularly in boxing.

Wlad was in his prime when he lost to Purrity. He was in his prime when he beat Byrd and he was still in his prime when he beat Haye. I think it's very arguable whether he's still in it now. He looks oddly good for his age and how long he's been going, but he does have a good ageing style and his opponents in general are ****ing atrociously horrible across the board, but I'm not sure he's still in his prime closing in on 40. Just because he's beating A grade **** doesn't mean he's still in his prime.

It's hilarious how, according to some, his prime conveniently starts right after his last loss, despite the fact he was a long time, veteran world champion in his physical and mental prime and it will conveniently end right before his next loss. He might have hit his stylistic peak, but his prime doesn't start just because he stopped losing suddenly.

That's like arguing Roberto Duran wasn't in his prime when he lost to De Jesus the first time, or Leonard when he lost to Duran, or Mayweather when he had a close fight with Castillo. Maybe Ray Robinson wasn't in his prime when he lost to Lamotta?

I always wondered why it took so long for Marquez to beat Pac. It's because he wasn't in his prime the first three fights! He only hit it in his last fight against Pac. Then he lost it against Bradley.

Why don't we start calling every 30 year old, 45 fight, decade long, veteran world champion with many world title defenses, considered the best in the world as a green youth not yet in his prime.

You guys are an absolute joke.

          Chambers
          Peters
          Haye
          Mormeck

Wlad looked unbeatable then, absolutely at top physical dominance.

I think he has slowed a tad bit now and seems to breath heavily down the stretch but he has enough to beat Pulev and do so convincingly.
agreed. wlad is still very dominant and very strong physically (despite being past his prime) and could easily beat everyone at heavyweight right now imo.

Well, If he loses tonight this is "because he is past his prime"...Great excuse.
