Comments Thread For: Pacquiao: I've Waited For Years, It's Up To Mayweather!

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao says the ball is in Floyd Mayweather’s court to make their mega-fight happen. The Filipino star is defending his world title next Saturday night in Macau, China - when he steps in the ring with undefeated WBO 140-pound champion Chris Algieri. Mayweather, the WBC/WBA welterweight champion, aims to defend his titles in May against an opponent to be determined.

Manny if you want to fight mayweather, who you knew had a contract with Showtime, then why did you sign an extension and exclusivity deal with arum/HBO? Please just give it a rest. Neither of you want to take on a real challenge, there's too much money in you both going your separate ways.

Swear there was an article last week where Manny said him and his team wasn't using Floyds name to promote anything and they wasn't even going to talk about him until after his fight with Algieri.

I dont know how so many are fooled both sides (including manny not just bob) are making more more fooling the masses with the dangled carrot strategy. It explains why pac is fighting in macau more and why mayweather is rematching an overmatched maidana. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all in on it.

That's no different than asking Mayweather why he would ask Pacquiao to sign with Mayweather promotions if he knows Pacquiao has been loyal to Arum lol

              Accept the offer then.

40M$ + 35% PPV cut is very reasonable considering the Pac vs Algeri will struggle to draw 400K buys.

Well, both of them will take the fight eventually when both of them are beaten (especially Mayweather).

It will be like pulling Social Security and checking off an item off their 'Bucket list at the same time.

That's not a bad offer, but you aren't speaking for Mayweather. He wants 100% of the PPV, while Manny is supposed to be a dummy and get suckered into accepting 40 million like he accepted that brief case of money in the limo from Oscar Delahoya a few years ago, where he signed a contract with them and was signed to both Golden Boy and Top Rank.

We need to look at what's 'reasonable' from Floyd's POV. If he fights Manny, he is fighting the # 2 draw in Boxing, which should mean something when it comes to the split. The # 2 guy deserves a slightly smaller split, but a big split nonetheless. The traditional 60-40 still makes sense. Roy Jones and Hopkins couldn't agree to 60-40, lets see if these two can or whether they will cash out when they're both 40 years old.

                    And I totally agree.

Pac has invested so much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears to get wimpy into the ring. Only to be ignored or thwarted at every turn.

He's done everything humanly possible, he should not expend anymore effort on him.

Ball is in Floyd's court, his entire legacy depends on it.

                    Pac's is sealed.

The greatest fighter of this generation. And a true warrior.
