After beating Hopkins, How do you feel about Kovalev vs Andre Ward?

Kovalev beats Ward a year ago. Kovalev beats Ward 6 months ago. Kovalev beats Ward now. Beating Hopkins has nothing to do with how Kovalev would destroy Ward.


Easy work Kovalev. Only Kovalev and GGG beat Ward from 175lbs and below. No one else

Kovalev is a good fighter. He's definitely not a bum. However, Andre Ward is on another level.

Kovalev just dominated a 49 year old, blown up Middleweight. While it's a decent enough win because it's Bernard Hopkins... the fact remains he was 49 years old and somewhat feather fisted. Keep things into perspective.

Andre Ward is an undefeated world champion with a proven pedigree. Bernard Hopkins admitted he wanted no part of Ward. Yet he was willing to put his 49 years of health up against Kovalev. Hopkins is a very intelligent man.

Andre Ward is on another level. Kovalev would be beaten in embarrassing fashion. Kovalev hasn't proven to be better than Froch at this point.

I want to see Kovalev soundly defeat Pascal or Stevenson before I deem him ready to share a ring with Andre Ward.

Did Kovalev beating hopkins change or confirm any of your opinions on how Kovalev vs Andre Ward would go down?

Something changed, Kovalev would get beat by Ward, a few months back I'd say Kovalev had the power to hurt Ward and maybe get the nod.

But Kovalev, for all his "skills" that were shown last saturday, also showed me he'd struggle if a guy like Ward would tie him up, push him back and land sharp counters. Ward has decent pop at this stage in his career and if Bhop could hurt Kovalev, Ward would and would do it far more consistently.

Ward by wide UD or late stoppage.
