The long awaited heavyweight fight between WBC champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs) and mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs) may finally take place on a date in January of 2015. The negotiations have been long and hard, with both sides being unable to reach a deal for a fight in time to stage it this year.

January 17th would be awesome, earlier than I expected it to take place if this news is true. One way or the other this fight isn't going the distance...I'm rooting for Deontay but could see either winning by KO.

Don King was trying to do with Stiverne as he did with Tyson: milk an over-hyped heavyweight with cab drivers until he can cash out with one big fight... looks like the TV Networks won't allow that to happen with a small name like Stiverne...

I think neither guy can really take a punch and whomever lands with the first big punch on the chin will win...
