Comments Thread For: Team Golovkin: If Pacquiao Looks Bad, Floyd May Eye Us

I'm not a Floyd fan... and I don't believe Floyd needs to fight GGG. GGG is a middleweight, while Floyd owns belts at welterweight and jr. middleweight. If GGG wants a Floyd fight, he needs to drop down to 154 and beat some top 10 fighters in the division. Then Floyd has no reason to avoid GGG, or at that point you can call it a duck. I said the same thing about Sergio Martinez before his Chavez Jr. fight. Why does Floyd need to fight middleweights?
However, if he wants to be TBE, which at this point I don't think very many people are convinced he is... then fighting and beating Golovkin would help make his case of being TBE.
Oh, one more thing... even if GGG went down to 154 and beat Canelo/Lara/etc... I think Floyd retires rather than defend his belt against GGG.Last edited by TheFlashKnows; 11-03-2014, 03:42 PM.

just don't get your hopes up about Floyd fighting either one of these guys. If Pac loses, and loses badly...then of course I can understand not making that fight and considering an Algieri match up (as exciting as that may sound). But GGG! I highly doubt that! I like that Team GGG is putting the pressure on, and they should not quit. Anyone who has a problem with this match up is clearly afraid for Floyd, as if he's your boss and if he loses you're out of a job hahaha! Weight classes are there for a reason and GGG said he can make 154. People talk about this like GGG is coming in at 180 and little itty bitty Floyd only walks around at 150 and that it's not fair. NO! what's not fair is charging us a ridiculous PPV fee to see a garbage fight.

Mayweather has the WBC/WBA world titles at welterweight and junior middleweight. Golovkin is willing to drop down to the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds to fight Mayweather or even 155 so the middleweight belts could be at stake.

I wonder if this is the line of garbage that GGG's team feeds him on a daily basis and whether he actually believes it: Gennady, don't move up to 168 to fight Ward, Froch, Kessler or any other quality opponent and risk losing. Stay where you are and Mayweather may fight you if Pacuquaio looks bad. Cotto may fight you since the WBC has ordered it. Bob Arum says the Chavez Jr. fight is still possible.
If Golovkin is ****** enough to believe this BS that his team is feeding him, he is as dumb if not dumber than Guillermo Rigondeaux and Adonis Stevenson.

You don't have to pay the fee if you think it is ridiculous. Just as I don't have to watch those one-sided mismatches GGG partcipates in three times a year (I don't), no one is forcing you to buy a Floyd fight.
Floyd will not fight GGG because GGG is a nobody who brings nothing to the table. If Floyd fought GGG the PPV numbers would be lower than Pacquaio's fights against Algieri and Rios because nobody except people like you who post on this message board gives a rat's a....sss about GGG and hardly anybody would pay to see him fight.

Do I think he fights GGG? No I don't, but I don't see any natural WW fighting a MW. And if he does fight him at 155 lets please refer back to this article and see that GGG said he would drop down to 154 or 155 to fight Floyd, and Floyd is not calling him out and saying he has to drop down in weight.
