Comments Thread For: Photos: Malik Scott Dominates Alex Leapai Over Ten

ALEX Leapai’s comeback from his world heavyweight boxing title defeat by Wladimir Klitschko ended in disappointment Friday night as he was outpointed by Malik Scott over ten rounds.

Leapai (now 30-6-3), six months on from his fifth-round stoppage loss to the world champion, was outclassed throughout with the visitor earning a unanimous decision; 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92 on the three scorecards.

By winning this crossroads fight, Scott, coming off two defeats in his previous three fights, can now look forward to big paydays against some of the biggest names in the division, while Leapai’s dream of fighting at the top level again seem over.

Leapai wasn't even in shape for Vladimir, let alone here... What does he expect at top level? He isn't David Tua.

Good action shots, and those are some mean-looking uppercuts from Scott. I'm sure Hearn will be eyeing him up as a Joshua opponent soon.

        Wilder's leftovers destroying Wlad's leftovers.

        HW division sucks real badly.

Wasn't a destruction but he nearly scored a shutout.

A fighter getting destroyed doesn't only mean KO'ed. You could get mentally destroyed in a UD.

That makes sense. Because a fighter who gets stopped early can always use the rationale that they were just caught by a good punch but to be totally dominated like that Leapai was against a Scott-level fighter has to really hit hard. He was probably thinking this fight would catapult him and it was the opposite. That's got to be tough.

Scott's talented for sure. He was always going to school Leapai who's fat slow and one-paced, the only question was could his chin hold up.
