In short Postol had a choice between not getting paid and embarrassing Haymon and DSG (similar to the Quillin debacle) or getting paid and letting them go on their way. It mighta been fun if he'd called their bluff, but Postol's hardly at the level where he can turn down free paydays just to make a point.
Yeah, that money would go a long way in the Ukraine. Thing is, if Danny had vacated Matthysse was next in line for Postol and you know Matthysse wouldn't have been cool with not fighting for the title.

Haymon pulled the perfect move...for himself.

Ya'll fasten ya'lls seat belts, patience is a virtue........if all comes to fruition then we might get a 2015 with Garcia vs Pacquiao and Garcia winning by KO and a Garcia vs Mayweather "The Holy War of Boxing", I called it last year that if Garcia fights Floyd in 2015 he'd win and i'm stickin to that, so it's possible and plausible that Garcia fights both in 2015 and it's also extremely possible he beats both, who else is better than Garcia at 147? Nobody is, he's been disciplined since he was 10 and Angel made damn sure of that too.... the Prince of Boxing and the King of 140

"When Danny goes to 47 we gonna take the 47 down too, i don't care who it is....i don't care who the killas are, i don't care who the tough guy is, i don't care who's the pretty guy, i don't care who's the red guy, i don't care who's the black guy, i don't care who's the blue guy i don't care bout none of them guys, I know when we go to 47 we takin over 47" - Angel Garcia

After casual fans wasted their time watching that crap card, of course there would be less viewers the following week. If the order of the shows were reversed it would have been a whole different story.

Disagree with some of the article.

            1) Just because the cynic in me knew the fight wouldn't happen doesn't mean I can't be disappointed that it really won't happen. It's only human to hope for the best, even though it's unlikely to happen.

            2) Postol is not a big name, but neither is he a random guy from the street. He fought his eliminator and has wins over some OK opponents. He's far from the least deserving mandatory. And if mandatories aren't enforced, then what's the point of world titles at all?

            3) Garcia might redeem himself to an extent if he fights someone good next, but swerving a rightful mandatory is reason enough to be disappointed with him imo.

Yeah, whatever. Which bit of that means he shouldn't have to fight his mando?

Danny's getting the third belt and leaving the weightclass, nothing worth his time there anymore after that except Broner, and they more than likely not fighting ever.

Hell yeah Danny will win by KO. That close your eyes and throw a left hook is deadly.

That's a lame excuse. If anything, people should have been pumped to see a legit welterweight title fight after seeing Danny almost decapitate Salka in two measly rds.

Dude just blamed Danny slaughtering Salka as the reason for Porter Brook being a dud in the ratings. Lol everything is Danny's fault. Postol accepting money to **** off was Danny's fault too.
