Great fight stylewise many would favor rigo with his speed, defense and counterpunching. But Pacquiao back then was very relentless with immense power and speed as well. I think at some point late in the fight he catches rigo and stops him after falling behind on the cards from being outboxed.

Pacquiao or Rigo at 122?

Pacquaio was getting hurt by scrub fighters in his home country at this weight. Rigondeaux is going to absolutely knock Pacquaio the **** out. Not only is he always balanced to throw that powerful straight left, he also has superior footwork and intelligence than PAC and anyone he's ever fought. People need to do some research and stop acting like PAC was not beatable. Freddie Roach comments on Rigondeaux should let all of you know that PAC even at his weight right now will be embarrassed by the smaller Rigo.
Rigondeaux hits very hard and does not throw a lot to keep balance. Pacquaio will get hit hard by that left coming in like a caveman and go to sleep like he did when Marquez lured him in.Last edited by Slick Veteran; 09-22-2014, 04:49 PM.

style wise, you favor rigondeaux. styles do make fights, but so do physical attributes. manny's power carried all the way to welterweight. he could knock rigondeaux out, and that's exactly what i think he'd do.
PS: take down that Ward avatar, you obviously do not know skills when it comes it comes to the sport, pretty disrespectful for you to use his image.

To beat Pacquiao, you have to hurt him or knock him out
This is what Pacquiao looked like at 122. He's just an aggressive offensive fighter.
The Miami Heat's defense is reckless too, it doesn't mean it isn't effective. They won 2 back to back championsips in 4 consecutive finals appearances.

PAC is undefeated at 122 and wrecking everybody. He actually ran into a lot of slick fighters at this weight.

Pac/Rigondeaux would be one helluva fight. Manny was reckless at the lower weights but that's precisely what made him so dangerous and dominant. Rigo is as close to perfection when it comes to technique and counter punching.
The name Marquez has come up repeatedly as the basis of arguing or proving that Rigondeaux would overwhelm Pacquiao simply based on the fact he's a better counterpuncher. You have to take into account that Marquez went through hell and back just to survive those fights and had to get off the mat repeatedly while also fight with broken nose. Also the difference in their counter punching approach. Rigondeaux delivers powerful single shots for the most part while Marquez lets his hand go and reels off combinations.
Assuming Rigondeaux would be able to overcome those obstacles and show the same heart and determination would be a mistake since he's never proven he has that dog inside of him. Obviously that's not his fault since he's never been truly pushed, but in a fantasy fight Rigondeaux would definitely need to go through hell to beat Pacquiao and I just don't see that happening.

Those guys Manny fought were crap fighters. None of those fighters are even comparable to Rigondeaux regardless of the fact he didn't lose. If Freddie Roach was afraid to let 122 pd Rigondeaux spar with Manny Pacquaio due to the fact Rigondeaux's skill will hinder the confidence of a 147 pd Pacquaio is all y'all need to know.

Pac @ 122 had a sledgehammer of a left even a grazing left hook floors an opponent leaving him down for the 10 count. No one beats Pac at that weight.
