Comments Thread For: Omar Figueroa Stops Estrada in The Ninth of a War

StubHub Center, Carson, California - Omar Figueroa (24-0-1, 18KOs) had yet another fire-fisted war, retaining his WBC lightweight title with a ninth round stoppage of Daniel Estrada (32-3-1, 24KOs).

There was no feeling out process. It ws bombs away from the opening bell. Figueroa had the edge with the power punches landing but Estrada was landing as good as he was taking as well.

Things slowed down a bit in by the fifth and continued forward at more of a measured pace. In the final minute of the eight, they went back to war with both fighters having their moments with hard combinations landing flush.

That cut gave Panterita super powers. Very entertaining fight.

        Good fight!

Until 2 min rest time between 8 & 9 bc of the doctors. Maybe too early on the stoppage bc of a single knockdown but I can not blame Raul for stoppage after all the good action.

I haven't seen Figueroa in a bad fight yet! Very exciting young fighter! Bad defense, but very tough young man.

So where are all the donut nedz saying Fiueroa was through? Looks like his one mediocre fight last time out meant absolutely nothing. Bad hands, and supposedly a shot fighter, yet he definitively TKOs his opponent. I'd say he's doing fine. Now, Oscar, get your act together and get him to the correct hand specialist so he can move up a weight class in style. Obviously with that fixed, the guy has alotta miles left on the odometer.

He knocked out estrada with winning gloves, so much for his hands crumbling in this fight!!! Lmao

His hands didn't let him down this time.
