Comments Thread For: Wilder Focused: I'd Be a Laughing Stock if I Lost This

Feared puncher Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31KOs) is not looking past overmatched journeyman Jason Gavern (25-16-4, 11KOs) this coming Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Wilder took the fight to stay busy while waiting for a finalized date with WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne of Canada. Gavern accepted the opportunity with a few days notice. Wilder realizes there is no room for error with a guaranteed title shot on the table.

stiverne doesnt move is head or nothing. Crapreola was tagging him in BOTH fights. If he does that with wilder, its lights out for him. Wilder has George Foreman type of power, touch you, good night.

If he were to beat stiverne would you give the man credit, or make up some excuse?

Beez721 - thank you for clarifying that - when you step up the level of comp, usually the level of punch resistance goes up also, this is why Wilder does not have a clue and the poor guy has not been past 4 rounds... say what you want about Stivern but he is a thinker and he can set a slow pace and step on the gas to drown this clown - someone on here tried to compare Wilders power to Big George Foreman

Can't hate on the man for wanting to stay busy, can or not. He is about to fight a legit Heavyweight and a talented one at that in Stiverne so no need to hate on him for taking a stay busy fight while B-Ware nurses his injury.

Yup but he won't so no need to worry about that.
