Who cares? Is she ever going to be the richest paid athlete? Probably not, so stop witht he uselss comparisons. The fact that Mayweather is doing what he does without major sponsorship is unheard of. Sponsors dictate when you sleep, what you eat and wear, how you behave, and when to jump. Cong**** to Ronda for becoming someone else's *****.

Rhonda Rousey is going to run out of spotlight time before too long. It's only going to take a loss and she's f'd. Cong**** on her success so far though. She will struggle to make as much $$$ in her career as Floyd makes in 4 rounds. At least she's a finisher though!

Although Heyman could not deny that Floyd Mayweather was a bigger draw "on a one-off basis", he did make an interesting point regarding their respective corporate perception.

"Rousey brings a lot of things to the table that Mayweather does not. She is new to the general media. She is very sponsorable. Floyd Mayweather is not very sponsorable. He is always in trouble with the law. He is always in some sort of a scandal, always in some sort of trouble. It is not really the type of thing that NIKE really wants to sponsor."

I see that people outside of boxing have adopted the formula that Bob Arum created -- using Mayweather's name to promote his fighters.

MMA and professional boxing are not similar in any way and should not be compared to each other. There is no doubt that Ronda Rousey has the potential to become a marketing giant. However, until she reaches the point where she is such a marketing phenomenon that she makes $80 to $100 million per year on sponsorships as Mayweather makes fighting twice a year, her name should not be mentioned in the same breath as Floyd Mayweather because there is no comparison.

Mayweather does have sponsorships. He does not get money for being a corporate spokesman, but there are companies that pay GBP to serve as sponsors for every Mayweather fight. After expenses and GBP's fees, all of that money goes to Mayweather. We have no way of knowing how much money is generated through sponsorships, but I would bet that it is more money that is generated by any other boxer.

In fact, if you add up all the combined salaries and endorsement money of all UFC fighters in a year, it still wouldn't add up to what Mayweather makes in a year. Comparing MMA fighters to Mayweather or any other boxer is ridiculous.

I would bet big money on Rousey beating Mayweather too. She beats the **** out of him inside the cage or in a street fight.

Outside of the ring, Floyd is really a nobody to the world. Real stars like Lebron,Kobe,Messi,Jeter,Brady,Manning, and many others are way more well known and especially RESPECTED. Nobody respects this guy...except Stephen A Smith, another tool douchebag.

Nobody respects him, but he makes more money in a year than all the athletes you mentioned, even with their sponsorships.

Put it this way

If Rousey and Floyd ever fought MMA or on the streets, Rousey would be the A-side and would be Favorited going into the fight.

And everyone whos saying Floyd is the highest paid athlete doesn't know how his promotion and PPV's work. He lost millions on the Maidana fight and theres no way around it

No he just lost extra on the backend. He got 32 mil and everyone else suffered because of his check.
