What is supposed to be good about Porter?

I just completely disagree his reflexes aren't fast at all.

His feet and hands definitely aren't fast.

I suppose his footwork is decent.

I think Brooks a decent boxer with seemingly quite a hard punch. That's it.

Nothing he does impresses me.

I think he's shown good reflexes, but he tends to zone out as fights progresses.

I would say he has good hand speed, but I would probably say Porter's is faster. But when Porter throws a jab, it's very quick but doesn't hit the target at all. Brook jabs hard, it's a proper jab. And he's very precise with it.

Once again, not saying they were great features - but I think he's pretty decent at most things. Just not world class in any particular department. Maybe his power is excellent for the WW division, but I'll judge that when he hurts someone of note.

I think his power is definitely being overrated, but he is an impressive fighter. He has quick feet, hands and is very explosive. I think his agility and fast footwork will give Brook problems, who has comparatively slow feet. Brook has a tendency to pull his head straight back which could lead to him getting constantly tagged by left hooks. Not many people at 147 that would be favourites against him.

What happened here, is that you saw Porter rip through Paulie. You want Brook to beat Porter (cause you're a modern nationalistic tribesman), so to make that possible to believe, you made yourself think that Paulie must have been washed up against Porter, when in reality, Porter simply just ripped through Paulie like he's gonna rip through Brook.

There's absolutely no doubt that Porter has faster hands.

Brooks hands are slow IMO. My wife and I sat down and watched his last fight while we were in Spain in a bar and she said "Wow that guy is slow" not that that means anythingng just thought that was something funny to add.

I think Brooks a good fighter, I don't think he's bad. Don't rare him very highly at all though in the grand scheme. Looking forward to the fight though.

Well considering a much stronger looking version of Paulie struggled with that Russian Guy Brook fought last, I'd say him for instance. There's a few others I could definitely see giving Malignaggi a tough fight. I mean, he was never great but he was beat by Cano IMO and he's on the level of that, or maybe slightly better than Carson Jones.

I've backed, and in this thread also, Porter to beat Brook by KO. That doesn't necessarily mean I think he's the next great thing.

Hope Brook wins but i fear how he will respond to the pressure of Porter, especially if he gets him on the ropes. I think Porter wears him down and gets a stoppage between 6-12. Brook's best bet is a early stoppage. Can't see him winning a decision, even if merited unless he dominates ala maidana vs Broner where you can't rob ha.

Which Russian guy? Senchenko? Because Pauli definitely didn't struggle with him he beat him easily and beat him up and stopped him.

You're probably right, but to me, aside from Porters fight against Malignaggi, I see him having a speed that's kind of similar to Khans. Not in the way it looks, but the impact it has in the jab.

I just think his jab is so amateurish, and therefore I probably discount his speed a little. It's flash speed, not effective speed.

I still think Brook has decent hand speed. Rewatched his last 3-4 fights today actually, I wouldn't call him slow at all.
