Holyfield was considered champ in '97 - so basically what you're saying is that lineage always mean the true champ. It's not so my friend, i'm sorry to break it too you, but it's not that black and white.

And no it's not at all the same as the the two cases you put forward. Not at all. It's not about liking someone - it's about a genuine title holder who's being avoided whilst fighting the rest of the group.

I haven't seen Thurman fight all the other contenders whilst Mayweather doesn't fight. This is a lot more like Froch/Ward than it is anything else. But still different.

Not at all the same again, and Matthysse didn't beat "everyone else besides the true champion" That's just insane. He beat the other title holder, but there was an active true champion in Garcia who had beaten Khan to take the ring belt.

Cotto beat a dirty old Martinez, and will probably go down to 154. I guess GGG will never make champ at 160 in your opinion.
We can agree to disagree....Whats insane is creating a champion when there already is one.

Again GGG has not beaten everyone either but you are anointing him. Cotto is an active true champion.,..there is no difference

I'm not creating a champion, GGG is a long time WBA champion that was openly avoided by the champ Martinez.

Martinez had a few dodgy decisions in between, was out of the ring - had basically one foot to stand on and was beating by a 154'er who will go down there again.

what does what you are saying have to do with who the REAL champion is...

Really what does that WBA title mean? Do you even know who he beat for it?

NO name Milton Nunez....for the interim belt at that....He never beat the super WBA titleholder(which is a joke 2 belts for one organization)

They gave it to him I think because Sturm or Geale didnt fight him I believe

Its this simple.....cotto beat martinez, who beat Pavlik, who beat Taylor, who beat Hopkins(who earned his title beating Trinidad, Keith Holmes, and unifying all the belts)

GGG has not done that so essentially you are creating a title

Yeah, and Hopkins beat pavlik before pavlik fought martinez. I don't care who he beat.

          You miss the point entirely.

He beat pav at 170...that's lt. Heavy not middleweight

You have no valid point besides arguing ggg is something he is not

Sturm wanted nothing to do with him aswell.
