    Another pin in the cushion

Finally, more truth comes out about how this guy isn't a draw yet he's always using drawing power to duck the better fighters. Maybe if he fights someone worthy of note he wouldn't have a problem selling. Let's just stop with the excuses for him not fighting top level guys around his division, everyone has done it.

This is a big night for boxing and I think that if they were truly fans of the sport then it would sell out without a problem.
New York doesn't have many boxing fans I don't believe. Unless you're Tyson, Tito or Cotto, who else have they supported. Not Judah, not Malignaggi. Arthuro was from Jersey.

There were 14,000 fans for Jones vs Calazaghe

New York City recently has consistently been able to bring around 5k fans for almost any event.

        Khan-Paulie
        Donaire-Narvaez
        Donaire-Rigo
        Martinez-Macklin
        Garcia-Salido
        Golovkin-Stevens
        Garcia Burgos

Past that, you seem to need Puerto Ricans.

Gatti was born in Italy but moved to Canada before coming to Jersey which makes it worse. The name Gatti just has a ring to it in the New York tri-state area and the fact that he never fought cautiously only added to the persona. People only care for marketability and that's what sells. No one wants to see true boxing in New York and the poor ticket sales for this event only prove it. They'd rather spend $25-$50 at a bar than see some elite fighters.

Most of these lunatics aren't real boxing fans at all.. Just fanboys of certain fighters that just come here to bicker amongst each other like high school girls.

No matter how much GGG gets deep throat'd around here. He's not a crossover star and likely never will be. So when all these conversations about why GGG shouldn't fight Ward because it won't sell. But should fight all these lil guys like Floyd and Cotto because of his marketability to sell a big event

Andre Ward did 10K+ for Kessler. He did ~8K for Miranda and Green.

GGG isn't drawing numbers like that because he doesn't have the testicles to fight the best. He is a coward who is afraid of boxers with styles that will challenge him. I hope Geale gives him a boxing lesson Saturday.

GGG needs to beat a big name in order to become a big name. He needs to fight someone like cotto or canelo.

Cotto probably sells out MSG with anybody right now, he's a hot name even moreso than back in his 147 days, especially if it's around the PR Day Parade.

Cotto fought a largely unknown Trout and sold 13k at MSG, the Margarito rematch of course it was going to sell well, at 17.4k, Clottey 12k, Jennings 10k, etc. As you can see, Cotto sells MSG well with anybody.

I Agree it does take two to sell good numbers, but when you talk about Cotto at MSG, Cotto is a one man band and doesn't really need a dance partner to do well. I mean Cotto-Martinez was exceptionally well, but he could do close to similar numbers with a Clottey rematch or Geale himself, Cotto-Canelo would probably need a stadium, if Mayweather-Cotto rematch ever happened it would probably take place in Barclay's, Cotto-Bradley would sell well at MSG.

In GGG's case, it's not that he needs a dance partner to do well, the problem is he isn't even a dance partner himself.
