Ward did not fight anywhere near his proper drawing location in 3 out of his last 5 fights so there's zero sense in using a single Golovkin fight to compare them to Ward's last five random fights. Might as well use the 1000 or so people that come to Monaco when he fought Adama as an example of Golovkin's drawing power. When Ward fights in his hometown, he draws a huge amount.

    Ward vs Dawson: 8919
    Ward vs Bika: 4,100
    Ward vs Green: 8,797
    Ward vs Kessler: 10,277
    Ward vs Miranda: 7,818

I mean, what was the point of bringing up Ward in the first place? It was obviously to declare Golovkin as a bigger drawn than Ward. That Golovkin doing well relative to when he started would be irreverent to that point.

The crowd was there, he is slowly building getting himself known. HBO also is trying real hard to make him a star.

Also, what a weird comparison. Using one fight to compare Wards last five fights instead of comparing GGG's last five fights with Ward's last five fights. I could easily say Ward's last fight in his hometown outsold 30 of GGG's last 30 last fights.
It's not really a weird comparison when you're talking about current and future drawing power. Ward was built as a star throughout the Super Six and there was excitement about his rise and how he would fare against the best in the division, but that star has faded with inactivity and consistently non-entertaining and one-sided fights. Ward drew around 10,000 for Kessler and 8,000 for Miranda and Green, but since those fights he only broke 5600 once and his last fight was just over 4000. Factor in GGG's higher TV ratings recently (which give a better reflection of nationwide attention), and it points to GGG building his base and Ward stagnating or even falling, even though GGG has had less well-known opposition to work with.
