Either agree to wear the gloves Floyd wants or stop *****ing because it was you who pursued this rematch. You signed the contract without hesitation.
Nice post. You seem like a legit boxing fan who see things for what they are.

Arum would never let Manny fight Maidana. He knows Maidana is too big and too dangerous. Even if a Haymon fighter was available, Freddie's choice was Danny Garcia, but Bob said Garcia is a no go. Here's how Uncle Bob runs things:

Roach told me he recently talked to Pacman's promoter, Bob Arum, and Roach said that Algieri will get the nod to fight Manny.

"I told Bob, 'I don't like runners,' and Bob said you better find a way, that's who you're fighting," said Roach, the six time Boxing Writers Association trainer of the year.

Roach said he asked if there wasn't somebody more popular, or a better stylistic fit for the 56-5-2 Pacman, who last gloved up April 12, when he conclusively beat (UD12) Tim Bradley in a rematch tangle. After all, Roach offered, Provodnikov would love to clash with the Filipino icon. Nope, Arum said, according to Roach, that'd be a hard sell because he lost his last fight, to Algieri.

"I can't promote that," Arum said to Roach. "Bob likes Algieri, and he told me that's who we're getting."

        Maidana's Gloves

Guys, Maidana acts like the gloves make him what he is and it will lead him to victory. Why is that? The MX gloves have a flaw where the horse hair can be moved and redistributed to the wrist and front of the gloves exposing the knuckle area. If you have never had your hands wrapped and laced them up, you should say anything. Those of us who have know the difference. Any advantage against Mayweather is okay because you hate on him. He is the most complete fighter of our generation. Give him his props. Don't worry Pac-Man is going to get. Believe me!!!!

"Those of us who have"....are you serious cuz. You do realize anyone could go to their local boxing gym put on a pair of gloves and go home right after...doesn't mean you can speak as to what or why another athlete feels comfortable in. Has nothing to do with hate, has to do with the fact he fought broner with them and nobody b*tc*ed but it's Floyd and now everybody is a glove expert. Have a problem with his gloves and techniques, don't sign up to fight him again. Period. Funny they knew this would be an issue and he ain't bring it up at the negotiating table. Why? Oh that's right cause it's bullshhhh.

Thanks. You just provided me good material to use when I tell people Pac/Arum does in fact cherry pick their opponents. I know negotiation would have likely failed but Maidana could have at least put the pressure on Arum and Oscar. After all, the two claim the cold war is over. Besides, IF Arum actually makes the fight happen, it would leave Floyd with no opponent for September. That would be a win for Arum. Even better if Pac knocks out Maidana or performs better than Floyd. It's about one-upping Floyd if you're Arum.

All that probably doesn't matter as I suspect the glove "issue" between Maidana and Floyd is nothing but a ruse to sell tickets. If that's exactly the plan then....good. Keep at it. It's actually working.

It's true that Maidana used exceedingly too rough of tactics. I do, however, wish FMJ would let him wear the gloves he's used throughout his career. If NSAC allows them then I don't see why another fighter should dictate what gloves he wears... If Maidana wins this rematch (which I think he won't), I do believe Arum will try to make Pacquiao-Maidana. and that would be a great match...

This glove stuff is a non-issue, even the tards that continuously regurgitate it know it, including Maidanas camp. What I find most funny about this debate is how people just blatantly skip right over the fact that the first gloves were clearly under padded, more so then the usual MX gloves. Ellerbe caught it commission agreed and yet Garcia continued to fight for that same set. Eventually the second set was brought in, but Garcia still complained about not being able to use the first set that everyone agreed were illegal. You do realize that until Ellerbe pointed out the gloves were under padded those same gloves were originally approved by the commission, so basically if not for Ellerbe, Maidana would have fought with a pair of illegally padded gloves, with the potential of severely harming his opponent, but you all would have been fine with that because it's Mayweather.

I don't really care what happened next, or what happens now, the reality is that those gloves were clearly less padded then the usual pair of MX gloves, and no one knows why. No investigation, nothing. Yet people have the nerve to say "but he don't get to use his gloves". Lmao, and for those who say MX is thin padded, yes that's true, but in the YouTube video you can clearly see the difference in the two sets of gloves when they were both tested, the original set Maidana was going to use looked as if there was no padding.

I don't want to hear anything about gloves until we know why that first set were poorly padded.

If it were me I would do the same, you tried to fight me with some fcukd up gloves you got caught, now you have loss all privileges to choose your gloves, Fcuk you very much and thanks for playing. 100% of you would do the same.

Mayweather is too powerful and everybody has to kiss his ass. He should not be allowed to tell his opponent he can't wear a pair of legal approved gloves. No other boxer gets to do that. He shouldn't be allowed to cancel the fight if he doesn't get his way on the gloves. He should get the hell sued out of him if refuses to fight. He bigger than boxing but I lost respect for him when he wouldn't let Maidana use legal gloves or fight Canelo at the standard 154 pounds limit Jr. middleweight title fights are always fought at. He is a spoiled ****** rich punk. I hope Maidana knocks his ***ing head off.
