1) "The best boxer in the world"? Says who? As long as he doesn't fight and beat Pacquiao convincingly, he just can't be called that by anybody other than his biased fans.
2) While yes, Maidana is as dirty as a toilet seat, this is a typical case of the pot calling the kettle black. Floyd uses his elbows illegally as much and even more than Maidana, throws illegal punches while clinching, and the most important thing, he clinches excessively, virtually every time his opponent tries to throw combination punches, and never gets penalized for it. And he initiates the clinches and elbowing more than 90% of the time. So it was nice for a change, to see him get a taste of his own medicine. When he stops his excessive clinching and his elbowing, he will earn the right to complain about the dirtiness of other fighters, otherwise he'd just better shut up and accept that he is a dirty and tricky fighter as well, and he enjoys the favor of the referees in virtually all his fights.
