Probably not. I would put the blame on Lara for not throwing more knowing that it would be tough to get a close decision win. I knew from the get go that he had to win convincingly or he would not get the decision.

Your boy has some serious flaws, and is very limited. The only reason he won was because he is Golden Boy's meal ticket. He got beat plain and simple. Didn't do anything but swing at air all night and hit arms and upper thighs. He got lucky Lara though he had it in the bag and didn't throw more punches like he should have. Therefore giving an excuse to the judges to take it away.
I also blame Lara for not EFing him up like he should have.

If you guys are proud of that "victory" you really have a very low expectations, i was waiting for that power and the "best" combinations boxer of today, what I got was a very clumsy uncoordinated kid hitting air most of the time, Lara should had put more punches together because ginger was there to be hit, his fault making the fight that close not because ginger did anything to earn the win but, for what he didn't do, almost all the press had lara winning, this should be a warning to all those Cubans coming up, don't leave any doubt and you have a chance, i'll congratulate my mexican brothers but you know canelo didn't do $h1t, who else is out there, cotto?

Lara won that fight, barely. But the way in which he won was ridiculous, continually running around the ring and stopping only to throw one shot here and two shots there isn't going to go over well with the crowd or the judges. Lara is a much better fighter than what he displayed Saturday night. He needs to get rid of Ronnie Shields. Ronnie is a good trainer for teaching technique and ring generalship but is weak in the area of strategy. That game plan he came up with was just bad. Here , your fighter is going into the biggest, most important fight of his career, it's his time to shine and what does Ronnie do. He comes up with this amateur game plan. Lara has the talent and capability of beating Canelo in a much more decisive and entertaining fashion.

Canelo's team yet again have no plan B when fighting skillful boxers like Trout,Mayweather and Lara. They look lost and the school where they learn Boxing in Guadalajara didn't teach them how to cut off the ring and how not to fight in cement shoes.
